Well it looks like I’ll be heading out on my own this weekend.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
My initial plan was to take the kids along but it turns out that northeast CT is pretty blank, especially for young kid related activities. We found a hotel that had an (vey small) indoor water park but I couldn’t justify $100 (ontop of the hotel room) for that when the kids can;t even go on the water slides. So i’ll be heading out on my own. I’m gunna wax the WRX Friday night so it can be covered in pollen again for my departure Saturday morning. I think I’m going to take the Pike to 84 on the way out there but will probably take some non-toll roads on the way back. Any good roads or lunch places?

It’s Memorial Day weekend so you should be going against the traffic flow, but traffic is still going to suck major ass. I live in Worcester and commute to Waltham so I can tell you the pike will definitely suck at points, almost definitely at the I-84 interchange. I’d also think I-93 would be jammed up too?
Personally I’d try the southern route along 101 through CT. But it looks like that could add 1/2 hour.... eh. Check traffic before you leave.

Oh and try and stop at one of the country’s top 20 BBQ joints:
Right off 84/90 in Sturbridge, MA
It’s the best BBQ in New England and one of the best in the country. Get the pulled pork, or a burger with the burnt ends in it, and a couple cider bourbon chicken wings.

Nah kids are no longer coming. I’m going there and heading back for an open house. We’re thinking about moving to our next fixer upper.
